YOGA SOMATIC THERAPY
ONE TO ONE SESSIONS
What is SYD Yoga Somatic Therapy?
Yoga = Unite, Somatic = Relating to body, Therapy = Treatment to relieve
SYD Yoga Somatic Therapy teaches the client how they themselves can be the non-judgemental listener/experiencer to their physical reaction to their unwanted thoughts, experiences and behaviours. Through this awareness the client can learn various techniques to bring about a peaceful state of both body and mind. SYD Yoga Somatic Therapy is a top down, bottom up therapy, the mind affects the body the body affects the mind.
Many people have thoughts, worries and experiences they need to talk about and unravel in the mind. These thoughts can directly affect the brain’s ‘Limbic system’ which controls our stress response. The brain often mislabels them as a threat and in turn the Limbic System brings the person into a level of the flight or fight response. The flight or fight response is a necessary part of every human because it helps us react to danger, however if there is no actual danger and a person has high amounts of adrenaline circulating their body, they often feel symptoms of anxiety, panic and fear etc.
Yoga Somatic Therapy aims to helps a client with both body and mind. Learn how to rationalise your thought processes, learn how your reaction to your thoughts, circumstance and experiences affects you physically, emotionally and in turn psychologically. With Yoga Somatic Therapy, we help a client take positive control of these thoughts and the resulting unhelpful reaction through acceptance, concentration, breath control, postural adaptation and muscle relaxation.
We will take the time to listen with compassion and without judgement.
Take the step to finding the happier you.
Sessions will last 1 hour Cost £40 per session or 4 sessions for £150
Jamie fully understands the impact of trauma and stress that we all experience in our life. During the time I have attended I have lost both of my parents. Working with Jamie has helped me move through the process of grief, connect back to self and bring back balance and harmony after the catastrophe of loss.
He instinctively knows how to combine movement, breathwork, stillness and relaxation to facilitate healing of body. I would highly recommend, Jamie is calm, kind and a very positive person.
I found Jamie’s sessions at point of extreme crisis in my life and while they certainly haven’t solved all of my problems, that are still ongoing, they have been a massive help. Jamie’s emphasis on inhabiting your body, noticing and being present, and becoming your own teacher are inspiring. I’ve been doing yoga for over 20 years on and off but have never linked body and mind so thoroughly until now.
Michael.OMy daughter has thoroughly enjoyed the sessions with Gemma, it’s really beneficial for my daughters mental and physical health.

“I have been unwell for over 9 months and was struggling emotionally. I have done three sessions with Jamie, he has taken the time to listen to me and made me feel important, whilst showing me different breathing techniques and helpful postural work. I couldn’t believe how amazing I’ve felt after each session and i’m on the road to recovery. I am hooked! and would certainly recommend a one to one session with Jamie. I really have learned a lot from him”.
ShazidaI began my journey with Jamie about 5 years ago. The sessions greatly helped me connect my mind and body and were very useful in coping with the high intensity, fast paced, stressful job I had. The breathing techniques and mindfulness became invaluable to me when I was diagnosed with a serious medical condition. What I had learned from Jamie helped me cope with the stress of the situation and also contributed toward my healing.

“I started my first session with Jamie last week, and my second one today, he has made me feel very comfortable, he taught me breathing exercises, and how to release tension from the body and mind. I definitely recommend Jamie’s one to one therapy sessions.”
NiaydaSince starting with Jamie my stress levels at work (and in general) have dropped considerably. If I get stressed at work I use the breathing techniques that Jamie has taught me and very quickly my stress levels drop and I am back in control and able to work more efficiently
